Alex FTP Filesystem
Alex is a filesystem that lets users access files in FTP sites around
the world just like they access local files. Alex pathnames are
composed of 3 parts. First is /alex. Second is a reversed hostname.
Last is the path on that host. For example,
/alex/edu/berkeley/pub/virus.patch is a file at berkeley.edu.
