St Petersburg has a metro system of five metro lines and there is a planned extension to 9 lines. There are 69 metro
stations and daily well over 2 million people use the metro. These "Neva" class trains are quite modern. They were built jointly by Škoda
Transportation of Czech Republic and Vagonmash of Russia and the deal to build them was announced only in 2014 and the contract was extended in 2017.
These first Neva trains have been used on the Nevsko-Vasileostrovskaya line of the Saint Petersburg Metro.
