The proxy offline browser archives all websites you have visited online. Offline each page is available with its original URL. There is no difference between surfing in the internet or archive. You can even use your bookmarks offline. This proxy offline browser is an ideal addition to every browser!

Options

 

In the difference to a surf set global options of the MM3-WebAssistantWebAssistant are set here.

Options/General

Control keys of the dialog have the following functions:

  • Help
    Displays the corresponding description at the browser.
    Note:
    If the description isn't displayed, then you enter the browser in Options/General/Browser.
  • OK
    Adjust options are taken permanently. The dialog is closed. At the next start the adjust options are used again.
  • Apply
    Adjust options are taken temporarily.
  • Reject
    Changes are not taken.
  • Cancel
    Changes are not taken. The dialog is closed.

General

Comprehensive options are summarized in the category general.

Report

You can hereby display the URLs processed in the MM3-WebAssistantWebAssistant in different detail views.

  • Traffic Statistic
    Display a traffic statistic in the main menu.
  • URL Report
    Display of reports in the main menu.
  • Browser Server Protocol
    Display HTTP protocol between MM3-WebAssistantWebAssistant, browser and server in an additional window.

Note:

You need this information only to a purpose of an analysis of the loaded URL. The surfing is slowed down by the reporting.

Create and display URL-History lists

Collect URLs according to following criteria.

In the surf mode online

  • Every new HTML page and their title
  • Any not found URL

In the surf mode offline

  • Any not found URL
    • At forms with the action POST
    • At forms with the action GET

Note:

A link to URL History pages are available also by navigation (command ls). You can delete the delete delete function every URL History on the respective HTML page.

Proxy Server

The MM3-WebAssistantWebAssistant communicates with the browser via a port. The port 8080 is used on your local computer (IP address 127.0.0.1) by default.

Note:

Setting is taken at the next start of the MM3-WebAssistantWebAssistant!

Rights of access

Specification of browsers (computers) with access to the MM3-WebAssistantWebAssistant:

  • Local
    Only the local computer has access.
  • IP area
    Computers within the specified IP area have access.
  • Public
    Every computer has access.

Note:

You reach the fastest access with the setting Public. At this setting, you should however block unwanted access from the outside with e.g. a firewall.

Browser

You can specify which browser shows additional information of MM3-WebAssistantWebAssistant (Homepage, Help, Update/News, Contact). Usually, this entry is not necessary because your standard browser is used.

Furthermore you can specify, whether the MM3-WebAssistantWebAssistant shall start the browser as well as used start page.

Language

You can select between English and German. In the user interface both languages are available. Documentation is however available in the delivered ZIP-archive only in one language.

Taskbar / Dock

The main menu is on the desktop per default.
The main menu can alternatively be operated about the MM3 symbol in the notification area of the taskbar

Note:

The changed settings are available at the next start of the MM3-WebAssistant.
This option is available only for the operating systems Windows and Mac OS X.

Navigation

With your browser you can in addition navigate in the directory structure of the cache archive now. For this you enter the command ls into the address bar.

Display Domain Directory

The representation of the Domain Directory is dependent on the number of the domains to be displayed. The switchover between the different display modes is dependent via the number of the domains to be displayed. Following modes are possibly:

  • Full Specified
    Display of the Full Specified Domain with a link to this domain
    and an indicator for an available HTML page in the domain with a link to this page
    and command ls list the directory of the domain
  • Compact
    Visualization is made out per domain in a line.
    If only one entry exists for a domain, then the Full Specified Domain is displayed.
  • Simple
    Visualization is made out per domain in a line.

Beyond this the representation can be restricted to a string with a filter Filtering of domain directory.

Note:

The term Domain is used as short name for Secondary-Level Domain. We otherwise describe this as a full specified Domain. At this we assume per default the protocol HTTP.

Display Directory

The number of listed HTML files in a Page is configurable. The HTML files are listed with their title and description as well as approx. 200 characters text. An indicator is additional activating. The indicator displays, whether HTML pages are available in a sub-directory.

Sidebar

The command ls can be alternatively displayed also in a sidebar of the browser.

For the browser Netscape, Mozilla or Opera see Navigation/Sidebar.

Sidebar of the MS Internet Explorer corresponds to its search window. The URL needed for this has to be entered in.

Determining URL of the search window:
You use the MM3-WebAssistantWebAssistant in the offline mode and open the search window (View/Explorer-Bar/Search). The error message issued will include the URL.

Java-Script

Pages for navigation can be displayed on the browser with and without java script. With java script more action is available.

Font size

You can select the smallest font size at pages for navigation.

Search

Hitlist

Result of a search is displayed as a hitlist. The files (pages) are listed with their URL, size, date of archiving as well as 200 characters.
The number of hits on a page to be represented is adjustable.

Marking

You can display every page of a hit. The link "Marker" marks in addition the search words in the page. The marking is configurable with a Cascading Style Sheet (CSS).

With this option you can actualize the MM3-WebAssistantWebAssistant. Version of the MM3-WebAssistantWebAssistant is viewed.

You can in addition import a new license here.

Manual Update

Following functionalities are available:

  • Check
    Checks whether a new version of MM3-WebAssistantWebAssistant exists.
  • Download
    Download the new version. At the next start of the MM3-WebAssistant the new version is used.

Auto Update

Checks, if there is a new version available weekly or monthly. The check cannot be deactivated in the evaluation time.
