KFD is the demo version of KiteFlight. KFD may be freely distributed.

The commercial versions of KiteFlight are available on a floppy disk
("Kite 10") sold through kite stores and book stores. The floppy disk
is an appendix to the new book:

Stunt Kites II: New Designs, Buggies and Boats
by Servaas van der Horst and Nop Velthuizen
THOTH Publishers, June 1994, ISBN 90-6868-085-5 (English version).
The books is also available in a German an a Dutch version.

The commercial floppy is sold enclosed in a CD package and contains kfc.exe
(the non-demo counterpart of KFD) and kf.exe (a version with a windowing
user interface with mouse support, on-line help, pull-down menus, etc.).
The floppy also contains a program useful for persons who build stunt kites
from the above book.

The Compulsory figures are now in a separate package (COMPUL10.ZIP).
In this way new versions of KFD can be downloaded without having to
waste bandwidth by downloading the compulsories each time.
At this stage, make sure you get both packages.

A note on version numbers for those upgrading from KFD 0.51:

Since KF 1.00, all versions of KiteFlight now have identical versions numbers.
Thus KFD 1.01 was generated using the same library used to generate the
commercial counterparts KF 1.01 and KFC 1.01.

The changes from KFD 0.51 and KFD 1.01 are smaller than the numbers might
lead you te believe. The main changes are (see also CHANGES.DOC):

1.01d *Finding BGI drivers [all]
KiteFlight will now look for *.BGI graphics drivers (only needed for
exotic hardware) in the directory where KF.EXE is located. Previously:
KiteFlight looked in current directory. See 1.01c.

0.99b	If-you-can-read-this [KFC]
Changed the message displayed before switching to graphics mode from
"Sorry, your video board doesn't seem to support the selected Video
	mode!" to
"If this text remains visible, your graphics system cannot handle
	this Video mode!"

0.99c	No Help [KFC]
Removed "Help" from menu of KFC because it isn't (and probably never
	will be) operational.

0.53d	Bug: "." in path [non-TV]
Solved minor bug in which the .KF1 extension was sometimes not appended
to file names without an extension. This happened if the directory
part of the path included a ".".
	Example: ..\kf1\myfile or .\myfile or c:weird.dir\myfile

The small number of significant changes are due to a jump in number scheme
(KFD 0.52 was renamed to KFD 0.92) and because the vast majority of the code
changes only affected the KF.EXE windowing version.
