The compass rose is correct! (cheers from crowd.)

The timing is definitely a problem, but there's an additional tool you 
can use. It's possible to insulate the disastrous effects of the black 
cube.

(Even when you get it right, by the way, the timing is critical -- don't 
waste moves.)
