I'm working on my thesis/article (I'm in my last year in Carleton's
journalism program) about the future of the book and eventual
possibilities. I'm looking at CD-ROM interactive fiction for one area
of this article and I have a couple of questions. If somone will
answer these, I'd be very grateful!
1. If CD-ROM is so cheap to produce, (one estmate is about 50 cents
to press) why are the games so expensive to buy? Some are upwards of
$80. A breakdown of costs would be appreciated.
2. How many companies are there out there that produce these things?
How many of them were around 5-10 years ago?
3. How long does it take someone to write a complete product? Some
seem pretty complex.

If you know anything about any of the questions you can e-mail
me at the address below. Hope to hear from you soon!
                                 Thanks in advance.
                                           Kira
