*****PLANETFALL SPOILER TO FOLLOW -- YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED*****

True. RTZ was awful by Zork standards, but when looked upon in comparison
to the rest of the CD-ROM universe it was quite good.

I'm afraid I'm quite a bit more attached than you are in this case. When I
played Planetfall for the first time years ago, I actually cried when the
mutants killed Floyd. (Yes, I really did. I admit it. Laugh if you want.)
That's the ONLY game I've ever gotten that emotional over, so naturally it
has special sentimental value. My major concern here is how they're going
to portray Floyd. I've always had my own opinion of what he looked and
sounded like, and I doubt the game will live up to my expectations. Not
to mention how he's going to come back in the first place, after the ending
of Stationfall. (I know, we've been through this before, but I got the
distinct impression that Floyd was battered beyond any hope of repair. And
the simple fact that he's a robot doesn't mean you could just replace all
the damaged circuitry and get him back the way he was. I mean, how could
the Stellar Patrol reconstruct a neural-net chip that retained all of the
life experiences in Floyd's original circuitry? IMHO, Floyd was one-in-a-
million, and if they can't bring him back in a convincing manner, the game
will pretty much lose me right there.)

: Also, has anyone heard anything of the new Zork game that is in the
: works? I have just heard rumors--nothing definite. Please let me know
: if there is some definite news about it. Thanks to all.

It's called "Zork: Nemesis," and is due out the 4th quarter of 1995. It's
a separate game from RTZ in that the locations and characters won't be the
same. I've heard that you have to work with "your old nemesis" from the
classic Zorks, but I'm not sure who that is yet. (The Dungeon Master?)
