My, I hadn't realized so many people lived in total fear of the unknown. What
a life you must lead, always wondering about what you can say, worried about
whether you might "spoil" someone's enjoyment of a film, TV show, game, comic
book, novel, record/CD/casette, etc. etc. etc.

Tell me, did you know the wicked witch dies in Wizard of Oz? How about
the fact that there is no spectre hound in Hound of the Baskervilles?
Or that Jimmy Stewart lives in Rear Window? Or that old Ebeneezer ends up
totally reformed in A Christmas Carol?

Do you take surveys of all your friends, noting what they have or have not
read, watched, seen, heard, or otherwise perceived? Do you computerize this
onto microfiche so you always have on hand a listing of what you can and can
not say to a certain person? Do you perform massive boolean operations
on your database before going to a party, so that you have a list of
acceptable conversation topics for any possible crowd permutation?

Ridiculous? Of course it is, just as ridiculous as expecting for the
rest of eternity that people should have to watch everything they say
about any particular genre of entertainment. If you haven't played
Lurking Horror, then don't read messages about it. It's that
simple, but I'm not going to have my life dictated to by those who
evidently live in total paranoia that they will learn something which
will forever deny them an opportunity at happiness and enjoyment.
