Are you sure about the date?  Looking through my old Bytes I see
the article containing _Pirate's Adventure_ data and interpreter 
in the December 1980 issue (with "ADVENTURE" on the spine).

NB- I do not normally read rec.games.int-fiction, but am following up
Alan Cox's posting (to alt.folklore.computers) and honoring his
direction of followups there.  If you want to get my attention, you'll
