Deliberately, or is it just one of those things that happens?  If the
former, I'd be interested in why...  I've seen a few references to this
'overscanning' (is that right?) about the web, haven't quite twigged what it
does apart from let the magic smoke out of some gear...

Oh, and ObENOUGH ALREADY!!!!!:  Hear, hear.  I've been gone about four weeks
and there were ~800 posts waiting; an unscientific "let's zip down the
thread list and spot the word *m*ssv*ll*" gave quite the wrong impression...
Oh well, off to the bar with me.
