I got basically what you did, couldnt rfind jeff because  you cant read the map with text tads.  The answers to finding both the robes and the idol have been posted to one or the otherr of the groups, just not directly refered to as such.
THe robes are under the bleachers and jump to treee will get you the idol.

A question for you.  You started by stating that the game was huge.  What evidence sdid you base this on. From what I have seen, it has small gameplay in a medium sized map.
