Unless the idea of spending much effort in designing, coding and
debugging the command parser and scanner is very attractive I would
suggest that you look into one of the many authoring languages
available (Alan, TADS, AdvSys, ADL ad. almost infinitum....). In these
the problem you are trying to address is already more or less
(depending on the system) completely solved and implemented, leaving
you to concentrate on the writing of the game (and not the standard
things already implemented many times over...).
